Frank Pearce. suddenly improved, turned wide into tho stretch and closed up like a shot. Pat Oran sustained his speed unexpectedly well. Cousin Carrie Ehowed early speed, but is a quitter. Cherries got away badly, but made up ground and was closing up strongly at the end. Tommy Knight was nearly left and closed a big gap. Dora I. retired early. Fairbury, show, 2 to 5. Cascine was lucky at the start, but Minders four-mile tactics nearly proved his undoing. He allowed Planet to steal a long lead, but won going away, with a tremendous last quarter sprint. Planet got away running, made the most of his advantage and appeared a certain winnor is the stretch with his long load, but tired right at the end. Punctilio is improving and finished going fast. Box Wood, nearly left and running green, mado np twenty lengths on the leaders after getting into his stride and is evidently a good one and looks it. Kittie Kelly led throughout undisturbed, the contenders being removed on the first turn when Jarretiere dOr stumbled and interfered with nearly every other horse. She ran in vastly improved form, however. Maggie Felix received a poor start and was interfered with on the first turn, then put up a game, but unavailing, stern chaso. Rollick was a lucky third, with clear sailing. Byronerdale, badly ridden and in poor form, was responsible for the bumping on the first turn. Lode Star sulked throughout and ran a very bad race. Princess Titania secured a lucky start, was skillfully handled, had clear sailing, was under pressure throughout and finally wore Glondenning down at tho end. Tho latter got away running, set tho pace at such n fast clip that the race quickly became a procession and sustained his brilliant speed unexpectedly well. Arabo was unlucky in the last furlong, where he was pocketed in behind the tiring pacemaker, but ran a high class race and was probably best. Constellator, away badly and outrun early, finished fast. The Frettor improved his position throughout. Stuyve ran a good race. Leader had no chance with a bad ride and was inextricably mixed up and roughed out of it. Tower of Candles, nearly loft, raced a fast half and retired. Scratched 36988 Sylvia Talbot, 83. Overweights -The Fretter, 2 pounds. Princess Titania, show, 1 to 2. Glondenning, show. 3 to 1. The early was ridiculously slow and tho race not truly run. Dr. Bernays was luckv, trailed to the half, where Eace e moved up suddenly and outsprinted tho badly-ridden Lord Badgt in the list quarter. The latter was crowded at the sturt and bumped on the turn, then took tho lead on tho far turn and appeared a sure winner, but failed unexpectedly under a weak ride. Grafter was closing up very fast at the end and would have won in a few more strides. Bessie McCarthy was at a groat disadvantage with the slow early pace and was outsprinted at the end. She met with much interference on tho turn. His weight and the hard track told on Corrigan. Dr. Bernays, show, 3 to 2. Lord Badge, show, 3 to 5. Grafter, show, 1 to 2. Beesio McCarthy, show, 2 to 5.
