NOTES OF THE TURF. J. S. Brattons string, including twenty head in all has arrived at Memphis from St. Louis to bo prepared for the turf campaign. Bratton has entered eleven jumpers in the Cotton Steeplechase Stake, and will make a bid for honors among timber toppers. George Mills manager of the Melbourne Stud, Lexington, Ky., has sold to Clem Hellebush of Cincinnati for ,500 the threa-year-old filly Merry-flight, by Prince of Monaco Merrywise, by Elias Lawrence. She is a half-aister to Aladdin and an Oaks candidate. Jockey Charles Houbre, the jockey recently employed by the Drake stable, arrived in Nashville last Wednesday morning and reported for duty. Houbre tipped the beam at 85 pounds. He is considered one of the best in the lightweight class. Inquirer, Chicago. The correct post odds against Wyola was 11 to 5, even and 2 to 5. J. J.
