NOTES OF THE-TUBF. Gorman and Bauer, the Cincinnati turfmen, are said to have offered Talbot Bros., of Paris, Ky., ,500 for the four-year-old chestnut filly, Waina-moinen, by The Commoner Matilda. They ask ,000 for her, but it is likely the trade will go through on a sort of a compromise, as it is believed the Cincinnati firmlwill go up to ,500 for the filly f Young Redf ernis-progressing nicely. Last Friday night the doctorsjattendine him thought that brain fever might set in and ordered ice bags kept on his head. Under thisjtreatment the boy improved and is now doing well. It will be a week or ten days, however, before heis able to be around. M. Goldblatt reports that the mare Brief will not be able to race for several months. She tore the sinews and tendons on the arm of her off fore leg when she fell, and is also bruised up and jarred. J. B. Givens has purchased of J. J. Mackessey the three-year-old chestnut, mare Paramount. The price paid was ,500.
