Albert Lee was well handled. He was interfered with at the first turn and crowded back but Lindsey brought him up on the extreme outside, went around the leaders at the turn into the homestretch and fought it out stoutly with Limelight in the stretch run. The latter came again at the end, and finished going fast. Free Pass tired as if short, and the race should improve him. Radiant Heat showed the most early speed but quit when it came to a drive. Scotch Plaid saved much ground at the turn into the homestretch but tired when the pinch came. Hedge was used up chasing St. Tammany and tired at the end. The field raced closely bunched all the way.
