Whitcomb ran a good race from a bad beginning closing up strongly next to the inner rail. Mabel Hurst held her position throughout. Follow quit when the pinch came. Assassin tired when the pinch came. Title was a sharp factor for five-eighths but tired badly in the final eighth. Miss Blarney was the victim of a bad ride. Enos avoided the early pace, picked up his field gradually and going on about his business won with plenty to spare. Brother Fred ran a good race but tired in the final sixteenth. Frank Jones found the distance a trifle too far. Deponarl quit badly. Waterton dropped out of the race in some unaccountable manner.
