GOSSIP OF THE TURF. In accordance with the new rulo recently passed by tho stewards of the Jockey Club, to tho.effect that in future horses must race in the name and colors of one man, "or the assumed name of one man," the well known raciDg firm of J. It. and F. P. Keene has been dissolved, while the yomig racing partners, H. P. Whitney and H. B. Duryea, will hereafter operate under tho name of the "West-bury Stable." The Messrs. Keene, father and son, will race separate stables. J. R. Keene will have thirty-six horses running in his nafme, while F. P. Keene will have thirty. Foxhall Keenes division of the .-famous stable will consist of the five-year-ofd Olympian, the three-year-olds Sir Launcolot Duster, Palmist, Whitechapel, Injun stion, Stolandn Moments, Dalesman, Hurst Park an 1 Toboggan, and twenty two-year-olds, including i half -brother to Conroy II., a half-sistor to Whiiecfrapal, timaif-siscerto Tennyf a half-brother to Peej oDaffi a half-sister to Disguise II. and a half-sister to Cock Robin. His two-year-olds include a half brother to Tommy Atkins, Trumpet and Maximo Gomez, a half brother to First Mate, a half sister to Lambent, a half sister to Cap and Bells, a half sister to Dazzling and a half brother to Tho Regent. The Westbury Stable has only two horses, Irish Lad and Whorler, as Acefull, now in England, is owned exclusively by Mr. Duryea. Tho new rule has been the cause of many other changes of a minor nature. The stable of Miles Finlen and SoDwhich is quartered at Gravesend in charge of William Hueston, brings forcibly to mind the loss4o the turf, of that ardent sportsman, Marcus Daly, since most of the horses which carry the Fiolen colors are Bitter Root bred animals. Tho majority wore bought as two-year-olds at the sandlo tot the Daly horses, and, needless to say, are bredin the purple. Several of them proved to be raceKorsss hotter than common, and one of them, Mamari, proved horself an exceptionally high-class filly. Early in the season she promised to "be about the best of the season, but unfortunately went lame behind, so that she could not do herself justice. At that, she won the Fashion Stakes and tho Criterion Stakes, boating such as Biturica and Martie Lewis and conceding five pounds to everything in tho race. She has wintered well and filled out finely. Daily America. The stablss of R. E. Curry, E. S. Gardner and H. N McTyeire arrived "at Cumberland Park several days ago. The best in the Curry string are Louis Wagner and Kubelik. Of the Gardner lot Frappe and Vestry are said to be the btst. In the McTyeire lot are Charley Thompion and Carrie I., both useful horses. Trainer Wishard took up the great horses of his string last Wednesday. This is tho first time they have had a brush or saddle on them since tho fall meeting at Westchester. Thoso that wore taken up for active training woro Wyoth, the Derby winner; Savable, the Futurity winner; High Chancellor, Runnels, South Trimble and Von Rouse. Only the six wera taken up. Wishard will give these moderate exorcise for tho next twenty days before ho commences to train them. These six horses are the cream of the Drake string outside of the promising two-year-olds.
