She outbroke the others and opened up a winning gap in the first furlong, was never in trouble and had plenty in reserve at the end. OHagen raced Albula to defeat in the first half and was easily second best. Senator Morrison began slowly but finished fast and got up in the last few strides. Thane began slowly and Pollak rated him along until rounding the far turn where he moved up to the leaders without much effort, took command in the stretch and was going away at the end. Illuminate closed a big gap, finished in the middle of the track and out-gamed Alpaca when it came to a drive. . Alpaca showed the most early speed but quit in the last quarter. Scotch Plaid had no mishaps, was well ridden and in the good going all the way. Jessie Jarboe tired and quit after going six furlongs. Cogswell could not extend himself in the going. Petunia was off with the leaders and Lindsey kept her in the good going all the way, caught Aransas Pass at the turn into the homestretch and the pair fought it out all through the last furlong and Lindsey outrode Hall when itcame to a finish. Aransas Pass was off running knd had every advantage but could not withstand the winners strong challenge. May Hollkdav closed a big gap and outgamed Jessie Weller at the end. Becky Rice was left standing Hatfooted and closed a tremendous gap while rounding the far turn but was interfered with and crowded back in the stretch run. This is a good filly. The latter ran a good race but was in the sticky going most of the trip. Polly Bixby closed a big gap, finished fast on the extreme outside and outgamed Ceylon when it came to a drive. Kiwasa tired when it came to a hard drive, but ran in much improved form. Safeguard fell at the turn into the homestretch. He showed early speed but was beaten after they had gone a-half. Flora Levy had a rough trip, was cut off, and crowded into the fence and finally crowded into the deep going. Scratched 37408 Brookston, 97. Overweights Crutchfield, 5 pounds.
