WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. The monthly meeting of the Board of Stewards of -the Western Jockey Club was held on Monday, Jtfarch 2, 1903. The disqualification of Frank J. Carr and of the horse John, property of S. W. Streett, was removed. S. T. Gaines, owner, and the horses Clifton Boy, Swan Dance and Lillie Pantland were reinstated on the condition that forfeits amounting to 45 be paid before April 6. W. Stitzel was rsinstated. The following applications for removal of disqualification wore deaied on account of participation in the Newport meeting: N. B. Davis, G. W. Pearcy, Thomas E. Perrin. Application for reinstatement of jockeys T. Corner, D. Gaddy, C. E. Murphy and W. Woods were denied. LICENSES GRANTED, Trainers F. A. Bigden, J. A. Broschart, W.Burke, C. H. Douglas, H. Flippen, W. J. Foley, Joseph JameB, C. Jepsen, S. S. Johnson, Sol. Levy, William Lewis, F. J. Meyers, W. H. Numan, D. P. Hodgers, G. W. Scott, G. Shaffer. , Jockeys W. Caj.wood, EfcDart.-T. Dean-, Hi-Fall-"ehy, S. Henson, F. Houston, Joseph Jones, H. Lor-enz, E. Neeley, G. M. Odom, G. Bayers, Ffed Smith, A. Stille, E. Tooman. Apprentices D. Berkson, W. McMullen, W. Preston. The following applications for apprentice licenses were passed for future action : M. Dietlie, O. Sailing, B. D. Weetfall, J. F. Wolff. Lyman H. Davis, assistant secretary. Angelo 3. Cella was appointed official steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at Little Rock, S. R. Montgomery at Memphis, and John F. Morse at Worth. Action on the application of the Florissant Valley Jockey Club for a transfer of the dates previously assigned to the Kinloch Park Jockey Club was deferred until March 11. The following bills for services to injured jockeys were approvea and ordered paid: Dr. W. Kohl-mann, ; Touro Infirmary, 8. Affidavits of Sidney S. Bender, M. Goldblatt, W. O. Joplin and W. S. Laird disclaiming ownership in certain horses which participated in the racing at Newport, were received and filed. The protest of James O. Gray against the payment of forfeits was passed to the next meeting of the Board. S. C. Hildreths claim for the horse Dick Bernard was denied, A new rule was adopted requiring all recognized agents to be registered in writing as such with the Western Jockey Club. This rule to go into effect April 1. Rule 153 was amended so as to permit recognized agents to file claims for owners. Permission was given Jamaa Robertson to race the horse Syrlin, formerly Sevoy, on tracks under the jurisdiction of the Western Jockey Club, and it was ordered that during the year 199S the old name as well as the new appear on the program whenever entered.
