Lone Fisherman patiently improved his position from a poor start and finishing fast caught and beat Rasp in the last stride. The latter was interfered with at the start and made excessive use of in taking a long lead early, seemed a sure winner in the stretch and was unlucky to lose. Tangled up at the start he worked into prominence and although driving early and making a wide turn he unexpectedly finished with a rush and is both fast and game. Andrew Ring, a slow beginner, was crowded back early, but finished like a cyclone. Clivoso led under a pull for five furlongs and seemed like a sure winner in the stretch, but tired right at the end and was probably short. He is a good looker. Instar was prominent throughout. Toto Gratiot finished going fast. Horatius closed a gap from a very bad start. Scratched 37661Priestlike, 107; 375913Anvil, 106; 37589 Young Marlow, 106. Corrected weights Winnifred Wear, 99. Sweet Tone broke slowly, raced around the field on the extreme outside and finished i like a whirlwind, was much the best and is evidently above the average. Miss Ringlets was lucky at the start and with clear sailing and a close stretch turn wore the leaders down in a long, hard drive and appeared like the winner in the last fifty yards, but was caught napping. Libbie Candid regained her speed and forced the pace from a flying start, but failed to stay. Crigli tired in the last furlong after racing out with the pacemaker. Oro Rose, away badly, closed a gap and was an easy fifth. Juana is a bad actor at the post and was poorly ridden. Sofita had no chance at the start. Scratched Febett, 108. Peaceful received the best start and was waited with in front hard held throughout and was much the best. Position finished fast with plenty in reserve, but was poorly ridden. Katie Walcott, away badly, raced into prominence in the first quarter after making a wide turn and tired after a hard effort to beat the winner, but stuck to her work gamely and is evidently in fine form. Galanthus trailed the field to the far turn and appeared like moving up fast, but unaccountably fell away. He came, however, with a belated rush at the end. Rag Tag secured a lucky start, raced well in hand throughout and dropped into good second place without urging. Ball Room Belle ran a fast and game race after an early brush with the winner and held on gamely.
