KENTUCKY DERBY AND OAKS: ; Not since the Stake was inaugurated, in 1875, have there been so many qualifications i for the Kentucky Derby as there are for the coming spring meeting of the new Louisville Jockey Club, at Churchill Downs. Out of 148 eligibles, 36 have qualified to race in this spring event on May 4. That there are so many ready and willing to try their speed . against one another is due to the fact that no one horse stands out pre-eminently.
