NEW ORLEANS NOTES. H. T. Griffin sold Safeguard yesterday to T. Licalzi and he ran- in the latter s inter- ests. E. Trotter has bought of "W. Karrick the two-year-old Arnold K. The stewards handed out the following after the last race yesterday: For violation of rule 195, "W. H. Fizer is ruled off the turf. The officials would give out no information in reference to Fizers case. From outside sources it was learned that they had positive evidence that Fizer had been using the "dope" on his horses. During the investigation Fizer admitted that he had purchased "dope" and when asked why he bought it replied that he did not get it to look at. ; i Jockey Treanor has been suspended for the remainder of the meeting. His suspension f came as a result of rough riding on Marco in the fourth race yesterday.
