Leopard laid in behind the leader for the first quarter, took command when called on and came away cantering at the end. Don ohigh ran a good race under a poor ride. Wallace Tiept fumbling with his lines through the last sixteenth. Jollier and Getchel fought it out all of the last furlong, the former staying best. The latter swerved when the barrier went up. Countess Clara showed speed and was a keen contender to the last sixteenth, but was under a hard drive at the end to stall off Ben Hullum. The latter began slowly and closed a big gap. Earl waited until in the last furlong before making his bid and wore the leader down in the stretch run, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off The Elba. Sigmund was under a drive all of the last " quarter and carried Ben Lear wide at the turn into the homestretch. Chickadee began slowly and was outrun in the first half, but closed a big gap and finished going fast. Boundlee was well in hand to the far turn, but tired in the last quarter.
