Start bad. Won easily; second driving. Ulloa was best. Away badly, she, worked into a contending position in the first half, flashed through next to the rail in the last quarter and won going away. Essence made the running for seven furlongs and went wide on the stretch turn, but held on well in a long stretch drive. Declaimer, lucky throughout, was always a sharp contender. Cougar was repeatedly shut off and with clear sailing in the stretch finished like a whirlwind. Choteau had no chance with his ride, was crowded out of it on the first turn and made up a dozen lengths, but swerved to the inside rail at the end. Donu had no chance at the start. Forte belongs in long races only. The Scot showed a flash of speed. Scratched 37880 Formero, 111. Overweights Oso, 1 pound; Mr. Rose, 2. Ulloa, show, 6 to 5. Essence, show, 7 to 5. Keogh, suddenly improved, got away running, led throughout and won easing up. Captain Forsee was the only serious contender, ran in greatly improved form and may develop into a good colt. Sacredus ran green. Crowded at the start, he closed a tremendous gap and was running faster than the leaders at the end and was much the best. Padua never had a chance after" the- start and was repeatedly interfered with and continually pulling up. Emil is improving. Hawaiian is a good looker, showed early speed and was evidently not ready. Sharp Bird is in rare form, secured a lucky start, forged into the lead on the far turn and . although bearing out in the stretch he outstayed his field decisively. Doublet was outrun by the winner to thestretch, where he was wearing him down in spite of being constantly impeded and carried out. Father Wentker was reserved to the stretch and saving ground by a close turn he scored a lucky third. J. Boggs was carried hopelessly wide by the first two and bumped at the end and was second best today. Propeller closed a gap from a bad start. Marineuse favors mud. Mocorito failed to come on at the end and ran a bad race. Annie Max got away flatfooted and closed a great gap.
