Crowded out on the first turn she came around the field in the stretch and won with plenty to spare. Alan was used up forcing the pace, looked high in flesh and should improve over this showing. Anna Daly put up a good performance; displayed speed and hung on gamely in the final drive. Whiten is not of much account. Scratched 378732Zirl, 123. Anna Daly, show, 1 to 3. Pleasant Memories was in better training condition than the others and that won for her. She wore Woodshade down in the final sixteenth under a drive and stood a whipping finish gamely. Woodshade was high in flesh and not up to a hard race. He is a quick breaker and possesses a good burst of speed and will undoubtedly, beat the winner when right. George R. Harrison was under pressure through the last quarter and held on well. Circulator finished well and would have been third in a few more strides. Brightwood could not get to going freely, is a big long striding colt and a longer distance will probably suit him better. Ora McKinney did not like the going. Scratched Eclectic, 104. Won driving; second easily. Locket was at home in the going and showed plenty of early speed, but his pacemaking mission told in the last hundred yards and his stride shortened perceptibly. He ought to have won by a length, but Odom drew the finish fine. Lord Advocate ran well and finished gamely in the deep going next to the rail. Brisk was used up in an effort to catch Locket and tired badly in the final strides. The other two ran poorly. Einus was entered and bet on up to post time, but was not at the track when the other horses were sent to the post. Scratched 378143Musical Slipper, 90. ,,.,,,. Locket, show, out. Away well in motion she raced the others into submis-, sion in the first six furlongs, but was a tired filly at the end and doing her level best. "Wheeler B. closed up fast on the stretch turn, but tired in the final furlong. The route was too far for Prancer and he tired badly. Benduro ran fairly well. Boston showed early speed. Winner Ch. f, by Chorister Cinderella, by Hermit trained by H. T. Griffin. Went to post at 4:55. At post 2 minutes. Start poor. Won easily; second the same. Musical slipper revelled in the going and was much the best at the weights. She wheeled as the barrier went up and lost a half dozen lengths, but the field swung very wide in the middle of the turn and Wilkerson rushed the filly through next to the rail and was in front inside of a hundred yards. She was tiring at the end and doing her best. Imperious ran a good race, was on the outside all the way and finished fast and would probably have won in another fifty yards. Bobbinet was speedy, but went wide on the stretch turn. Ornature was coming fast at the end and would have been third in a couple more strides. Mystic Belle weakened after going three furlongs. He saved ground all the way and Athelroy finished with a rush through the last hundred yards, getting through next to the rail and getting up in the last stride. The colt is in grand condition and stood the stretch drive gamely. Bon Mot handled his weight well and would have won had he not swerved in the last few strides when Waterbury reached for his whip. As it was, he was practically all out from wearing down Ben Howard. The latter was not quite up to the route, but revelled in the going and showed plenty of speed. Scratched 37914 Mosketo, 117; 37914 Benckart, 110. Overweights Ben Howard, 3 pounds.
