Winner Ch. c, by Rey del Sierras Ogzilla trained by O. A. Appleby. Went to post at 2:15. At post 1 minute. Start fair. Won easily; second driving. Toto Gratiot secured a lucky start and showing superior early speed drew clear on the far turn and retained his advantage gamely. Penance ran in close quarters to the" half, worked into a contending position on the stretch turn and closing up fast at the end was probably best. Anvil, crowded at the start and interfered with repeatedly, finished like a flash. Tuckback closed a big gap. Alta G. could not keep up and was forced out of position early. Vig-oroso might have been placed but for a wide stretch turn. Belle Street went a good half, is a. cracking good looker, well tried and is worth remembering. Vonzollern was unlucky and can do better. Orsina was lucky at the start, fell in behind the pacemaker to the stretch where she went to the front cantering and won easing up. Naulahka developed superior and unexpected speed and stamina, forced a fast pace and put up a long stretch drive gamely. Warte Nicht was crowded on both turns and finished with a rush. Judge Voorhees followed the pace closely and received a skillful ride, but failed to stay. Dotterel got away badly and closed a gap and was going fast at the end. Captain Forsee is steadily improving, got away running, made the most of his advantage and ran a fast and game race. Young Peppers forward position throughout was also due to a fortunate start. Whoa Bill was carried wide on the turn, but always had clear sailing and finished fast. Rose Farr got away badly and worked a rough journey into prominence in the first quarter. Selected, away badly and repeatedly interfered with, was possibly best and closed a tremendous gap. Sweet Tone also suffered from crowding and was hopelessly pocketed in the last furlong. Lord Wadsworth is a slow beginner and closed a gap in the last quarter. Resigned had no chance at the start. Overweights Captain Forsee, 1 pound; Annie Marie, 2. Captain Forsee, show, 2 to 1.
