ARKANSAS DERBY WINNERS. The Arkansas Derby is a "wee bit of a Derby and scant in financial returns, but it has been contested and won by many famous horses. It was first run in 1892 and won by the California horse Pescador. Its history is as follows: 1892, D. R. Dickeys Pescador Cook won; Little Billie, second; Arthur Murray, third; value, ,210. 1893, Cushing and Orths Boundless Kunze won; Buck McCann, second; Calhoun, third; value, ,710. 1894, Scoggan Bros. Buckrene Thorpe won; John Cooper, second; Powhattan, third; value, ,410. 1895, Pastime Stables Laureate Clayton won; Lobengula, second; Bob Clampett, third; value, ,000. 189G, H. Springs Lady Inez Thorpe won; Ben Eder, second; Garland Barr, third; value, ,500. 1897, W. and A. McGuigans Boanerges Simms won; Burlesque, second; Arlington, third; value, ,900. 1899, W. W. Dardens Leo Planter Everett won; Prince McClurg, second; Hardy Pardee, third; value, ,000. 1902, J. U. Strodes Prowl Lindsey won; Flora Pomona, second; Huntressa, third; value, ,000. 1903, T. H. Stevens Barca Helgesen won; Sigmund, second; Dr. Kammerer, third; value, ,030. The race was discontinued in 1898, 1900 and 1901.
