McCaff erty saved her in the first part of the race and she finished fast and gamely throughout the final furlong under a hard drive. Gloriosa was at home in the going and in a good position throughout, but she lacked speed to come on fast enough in the last sixteenth and was probably a trifle short. Midnignt Chimes improves with each race, showed speed and fought out the finish stoutly. Ithan was not up to a hard race. Geisha Girl was outclassed. Elizabeth Moan broke well, but ran poorly. She has shown well in such going. Scratched 37865 Geneseo, 104. Overweights Ithan, 4 pounds; Elizabeth Moan, 1; Alhambra, 5; Bohemia Belle 3 Ahola, show, 3 to 5. Gloriosa, show, 2 to 5. Termagant broke fast and raced with Woodshade all the way, wore the latter down in the stretch under a hard drive and was doing her best at the end. Woodshade is very speedy, but the fast pace which she forced in the first part of the race told and she tired in the last furlong, but stood a whipping finish gamely. May Holladay was at home .in the going and finished very fast after coming wide at the stretch turn and would have won in a few more strides. Ora McKinney ran a fair race. The others were eased up in the stretch. Scratched Woodspring, 99. Overweights May Holladay, 2 pounds: Ora McKinney, 5; Bery Waddell, 5. Termagant, show, 8 to 5. Woodshade, show, 1 to 3. Graziallo revelled in the going, raced the others into subjection in the first quarter and was eased up all through the stretch. Circulator ran under pressure all the way, stood a drive and hung on well. Spring began slowly, ran green and should improve. Bruceville was high in flesh and tired after going a quarter. It wras only a canter for the winner, which has developed into a good filly. Musical Slipper could have been closer to the winner, but she was eased up in the last hundred yards when second place was safe. Sapere is not much and was only third because Black Diana tired after trying to race with Musical Slipper. Black Diana was speedy and is worth remembering when rightly placed. Burns made up ground gradually with him to the stretch turn where he closed up fast and caught Yellow Tail in the stretch run, but tired from his early efforts and Burns rode him out to stall off Examiner. The latter came with a rush in the final furlong and was gaining at every stride. His performance was good for his first time out. His weight and the going were too much for Yellow Tail and he weakened in the final drive. Red Damsel was used up racing with Yellow Tail. Overweights Examiner, 4 pounds. Daly, show, out. Meistersinger broke fast, held the lead throughout and was never in danger, but Henderson rode him hard all through the last quarter. Benckart was at home in the going, came wide at the stretch turn, finished with a rush and was easily the best of the others at the weights. Moderator was third because of Hicks strong finish. Rough Rider ran in behind horses all -he way and made up some ground in the final furlong. Wheeler B. and St. Sever seemingly found the route too far and the latter was eased up when beaten.
