Himself was out in the middle of the track all the way and could not keep up in the first part of the race, but came fast in the stretch under the whip. Blue and Orange was a contender for nearly five furlongs, showing big improvement and he will do when rightly placed. Cloche dOr had no chance from the start and was standing still when the barrier went up. Scratched 36472 Invincible, 111; 38129Tommy Foster, 110; 38132Duke of Kendal, 103. Winner B. h, by Inspector B. Tommie Bell trained by C. Reynolds. Went to post at 3:30. At post 2 minutes. Start poor. Won handily; second driving. Eloim is steadily improving, received a good start and forced the pace throughout, drew away in the stretch when called on, but tried to bolt and Odom had to tap him with the whip to keep him straight. Zirl ran well and outgamed Midnight Chimes in a drive through the stretch. The latter did her best. Lady Radnor displayed a good performance and is worth remembering. Alpaca ran a bad race. Springbrook was a contender for a half mile, then tired badly and finished next to the outside rail. Aunt Bella showed early speed. Scratched 36064 Iridescent, 110; 381853Mark Cheek, 105; 38058 Tom Cogan, 100; 38182 Twilighter, 100; 381813Alhambra, 95; 38150 Mosketo, 94. Won easily; second driving. It was only an exercise gallop for the winner at the weights. He led unextended and won eased up. Glennevis was under a hard drive from the head of the stretch to dispose of Merriment. Merriment swerved across the track when called on in the stretch and Blake had all he could do to keep her straight. Hist displayed speed and was a sharp contender for Ave furlongs when he tired. H. L. Coleman needs a longer route and there was too much early speed in the race for him. Overweights Tugai Bey, 1 pound. Tugai Bey, shpw, out. Glennevis, show, 1 to 3. Merriment, show, 1 to 3. Winner Br. c, by Atheling Octavia trained by W. F. Presgrave. Went to post at 4:25. At post 6 minutes. Start poor. Won handily; second the same. Interlude showed much early speed, but tired badly from pacemaking and swerved when Haack hit him with the whip a furlong from home, going from the outside to the inside rail in the run to the finish and was doing his best at the end. Reverberate, standing still when the barrier went up, made up ground and closed up fast in the stretch, but Odom had to pull him up in the final furlong when Interlude swerved. He should have won. Bruce-ville, a big good looking youngster, showed speed and hung on well all the way and the race should improve him. Ora McKinney finished fast next to the outside rail and would probably have won had the distance been a sixteenth farther. Scratched 381642Eleata, 109. Overweights Reverberate, 2 pounds. Cherubim was best and would have won more easily with a better ride. She was in several pockets in going to the stretch turn and had to come around the other horses and was whipped to get to the front and Redfern took no chances riding her out. Loravale was hard ridden all the way and outgamed Michaelmas in a drive. The latter rounded to with a rush and showed much speed. Overweights Loravale, 4 pounds. Loravale, show, out. Knight of the Garter was crowded on the first turn, but readily went to the front on the backstretch. Minder took him wide on the turns and he finished next to the outside rail and was much the best. Carroll D. was under pressure through the last half mile, but could not get up. Imperious ran a fair race for six furlongs and came again at the end. Black Dick was shut off by Carroll D. on the first turn. He should have been third, but Burns threw the place away at the end by easing up. No show betting.
