Padua is evidently a superior class colt, indulged the pacemaker to the stretch, where he drew to the front cantering and was much the best. Dr. Rowell came from a long way back in the last furlong. Alamansor ran in vastly improved form, got away poorly and moved up like a flash at the end. Toltec is improving. Sir Appleby failed at the end. Rodolfo went a fast three furlongs. Winner Ch. m, by Royal Flush Lady Emma trained by S. Judge. Went to post at 3:02. At post 6 minutes. Start straggling. Won driving; second the same. Canejo was lucky throughout, came through next to the rail, saving much ground, and proved the best stayer in a long stretch drive. Dollie Wiethoff went wide on the stretch turn losing much ground, but finished gamely. Aunt Polly, probably best, was carried out on the stretch turn and was wearing the leaders down at the end. Alaria got away badly, worked a rough journey.closing a big gap. Matin Bell, away badly and excessively used in an early effort to get into a contending position, tired in the final drive. Cathello went well. Scratched 3S1622Velma Clark. 113; 37376 Miss Vera, 103. Overweights Canejo, 1 pound. Canejo, show, 2i to 1. Dollie Wiethoff, show, evens. Aunt Polly, show, 7 to 10. Winner Blk. f, by Midlothian Twinkle trained by W. B. Jennings. Went to post at 3:29. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won in a canter; second easily. Nigrette was lucky at the start, went fast and steadily throughout and decreasing Sad Sams long lead rapidly on the far turn, she saved ground on the stretch turn, went to the front and was under a pull when a furlong out. She ran a remarkably fast race and is a difficult one to place. Sad Sam quickly raced into a long and apparently winning lead and although tiring badly in the stretch was easily the best of the others. Mocorito closed a gap and finished fast. E. M. Brattain failed to stay after a choking effort to place him in the first half. Orsius could not withstand the terrific early pace. Jockey Club ran a bad race Overweights E. M. Brattain, 1 pound. Trahern was repeatedly interfered with, but ran a good race and outstayed Bathos after a long stretch drive and was much the best.
