Henry rated him . along up the hill and saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and won with plenty to spare at the end. At the weights Emir was probably the best and would have won with a better ride. He was on the outside through the entire trip and came very wide when making the turn for home. Ballooon finished well and outgamed Ecome in the final drive. The latter made up much ground in the homestretch. Insolence came to the extreme outside at the turn into the homestretch. Langford James came around the leaders at the turn into the homestretch, finished fast and outgamed Salto in a long stretch drive. Salto began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished going fast and resolutely. Rainland saved ground at the turn into the homestretch, but Phillips was not of much help to him when the pinch came. Phelan ran well to the stretch. Lady Free Knight showed early speed, but tired as if short. Mingore was bumped into and crowded back in the last sixteenth. Scratched 38138 Lady Ray, 95. Scotch Plaid ran to his best form, was well ridden and had no mishaps. Favonius was crowded back in the last fifty yards. Red Hook ran in much improved form. Daddy Bender was pinched off at the far turn, but came again fast on the inside and outgamed Flaneur in a sharp drive. The later finished resolutely and had to go around the leaders to get up. Annie Lauretta showed a burst of early speed, but tired. Chickadee bore out in the stretch run and finished on the outside. Henry of Trastamare did not run his race. Scratched 38174 Fake, 100.
