Esternell, suddenly improved and favored by the going and a lucky start, practically forced the pace throughout and drew clear right at the end. Nullah ran well and finished fast. Maresa ran as if short. Miss Dividend was a sharp contender throughout and only passed in the last two strides. Malaspina closed a gap. Disturber indulged Harry Thatcher with the lead to the half, where he forged to the front without urging, came away in a canter and was much the best and favored by the soft going. Bernota also likes a soft track, was outrun early, made up ten lengths from the half in and finished with a rush. Windward ran a fine race and is genuinely improved and seemed to have been caught napping for second place. Kickumbob went in improved form. Harry Thatcher failed to stay. Canejo moved up fast on the stretch turn and unexpectedly tired. Bedner, away badly, raced into prominence early and retired. Scratched 38251 Ravino, 102. Disturber, show, 2 to 5.
