Miss Manners showed much speed throughout and never left the result in doubt. Mi Reina made up ground in the stretch and finished fast. La Honda did her best and tired fast when the pinch came. Arnold K., under a vigorous ride, gradually closed up on J. W. ONeill in the last sixteenth and just got up in time to win on the post. J. W. ONeill showed a fine turn of speed, but tired rapidly in the closing strides. Jerry Lynch made up ground fast in the last quarter and finished gamely. St. Minor ran to his best form and stood off Stem Winders determined challenge with great gameness. The latter showed a sharp turn of speed, but tired palpably in the last hundred yards. The race should improve him greatly. Scorpio, under a vigorous ride, closed up ground fast in the last eighth, running next to the inside rail and was fast overhauling Stem Winder at the end. Hattie Walker ran her race. The others were not in the hunt. Overweights Soothsayer, 5 pounds. Stem Winder, show, 1 to 2. Scorpio, show, 2 to 5. O Q i FOURTH RACE 1 1-16 Miles. Bondage was mucli the best at the weights. He was not called on until turning for home, where he easily went to the front and won well in hand. Just after straightening out for the wire the rider on Bondage was unable to keep him from swerving into Albula, which carromed into Antonius. For this Bondage was disqualified, Antonius being placed first, Albula second, and The Bobby third. Antonius ran Albula into submission in the first seven furlongs, but tired fast in the last sixteenth. Albula was well beaten soon after turning for home. The Bobby ran a dull race. Alee showed fine speed throughout, was much the best and made the field look cheap. Dutch Carter was always a contender and was easily best of the others. Dodie S. ran a. dull race, but probably runs best in soft going. About tired fast after a half mile had been run. She also runs to her best form in soft going. Malay appeared stiff and sore when going to the post. Radford ran nowhere near the form he is known to possess. Scratched 3S30S Leo Newell, 106. . J , Overweights Illuminate, 2 pounds. Haydon was easily best and simply spreadeagled his field. Merops finished resolutely under a hard drive. Limelight closed up ground in the final eighth and was just beaten on the post for second place. Prince Webb ran a good race and bears watching. Zonne tired fast in the last eighth. Miss Liza got off badly and showed slight speed at any part of the race and ran far below her best form. Harry Beck showed improvement, but tired rapidly tH the pinch came. Overweights Harry Beck, 1 pound. Haydon, show, 3 to 5. Merops, show, 8 to 5. Limelight, show, 2 to 1. Miss Liza, shH 1 to 3.
