The latter was bumped into at the start, but finished fast and was gaining on the leaders at every stride. Lapidus ran well to the stretch and tired. Lou Rey closed a big gap. He went around the leaders at the far turn, caught Barca tiring In the stretch run and was going away at the end. Barca ran a good race, was well ridden and had no mishaps. Postmaster Wright was shut off at the sixteenth post, but was tiring at the time. Sinner Simon tired and quit as if short and so did Reservation. The latter tried to run out at the furlong post.
