Sly was lucky and skillfully reserved and made good with a winning stretch run, just getting up in the last stride. Dollie Wiethoff, away in her stride, forced the pace throughout and was best, but lost through a weak finish and swerving out at the end. Aunt Polly worked through a rough early journey and came through next to the rail in the last quarter and seemed the winner in the last sixteenth, but failed right at the end. Lou Clieveden, badly ridden and messed about, went hopelessly wide on the stretch turn. Yrsula was a sharp contender for six furlongs and is worth remembering. Mountebank quickly assumed command and led hard held throughout and was much the best at the weights. Rosarie, away badly, closed a great gap and finished very gamely. Artilla, suddenly improved, finished like a whirlwind. Windward, crowded at the start, excessively used in the first half and tired at the end, was easily second best. Platonius is best in mud, but went well. G. W. Trahern had no chance at the start with his bad jockey and can do much better. Lode Star again sulked. Corrected weights Mountebank, 98. Leash, lucky and well placed, moved up with a rush in the last furlong. Blissful ran a game and fast race and is much improved. Honeysuckle practically forced the pace from the start and appeared like winning in the stretch, but was swerving into the rail and only beaten in the last three strides. Brennus was going fast in the last quarter Past . Master was unlucky and had bad handling. Theodora L. was crowded back in the first quarter. Mover went a good six furlongs. The latter was well placed throughout moved ud on the stretch turn and finished like a whirlwind. Swiftwing displayed Improved form was prominent after the first furlong, got away poorly and held on gamely. Polonius nearlv left, closed a great gap and seemed like a sure second when a sixteenth out, but tired badlv and swerved at the end. Hudson went well.
