Don Domo easily wore down Pocassat in the stretch run and won as his rider pleased. The latter was much the best of the others. Jerry Flanigan tired fast in the final eighth. Soothsayer gradually closed up on Stem Winder in the final eighth, and under a drive outstayed him to the wire. The latter broke flatfooted and was used too much in the first half to overtake Uranium, having nothing left to stand off Soothsayers bid. Uranium was off flying and displayed much speed, but maintained it for only five furlongs. The others were never serious contenders. Corrected weights Bluemint, 102. Overweights Gracious, 5 pounds.
