Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily; second han- dily. Lacache ran Discharged into early submission, but had to be shaken up when a 3 furlong out to offset Rosie Dillons bid. The latter stood a long stretch drive, but tired j; palpably in the closing strides. Discord came with a rush at the end and nipped Crucero o on the post for third place. Start good. Won handily; second easily. • Automaton was ridden with judgment, Dominick dodging the early pace. When well , straightened out for home Automaton gradually closed up on Zibia and outstayed her from the last sixteenth post home. The latter showed much speed, but tired when challenged ; by the winner. Doeskin finished going fast. Gracious made up ground in the last quarter. Cornwall was cut off badly just before the last turn and was taken wide. With better rac- : ing luck he would have been much closer up. She had little trouble moving into the lead when a : furlong out and held the field safe all through the last sixteenth. Albula tired when challenged by the winner, but hung on under punishment. Omdurman finished strongly running next to the inside rail, just getting up in time to nip Antonius on the post for third place. The latter faltered badly when called on for the final effort.* Frank M. finished going fast and boars watching from now on. Scratched— 385772Dan McKenna, 97; 3S4S7sRankin, 94. Irene Mac displayed much speed, but was tiring fast at the end. Gus Lanka stood a long stretch drive well and had no mishaps. Sly Boots was right there for five and a half furlongs. Will Sherry ran to the mark and was much the best of f the others. Prodigal Son finished going fast. Prince Webb was well spent when the final .1 issue came. Overweights— Gold Bride, 3 pounds. Alee displayed keen speed throughout and the result was never in doubt. John A. Clarke :e began slowly, but made up ground gradually and finished going fast. Dutch Carter showed d sudden improvement. He was right there for seven furlongs, but tired fast when challenged by John A. Clarke. Haydon hardly ran back to his last two efforts and fell back badly , beaten when turning for home. John J.
