Winner — B. g, by Zobair — Belle of Lake n. trained by A. Wilson. Went to post at 2:14. At post 1 minute. Start fair. Won handily; second easily. Whiskers was lucky at the start and had clear sailing, stole a long winning lead on the stretch turn and just lasted out. Vassalo was outrun early, but finished with a tremendous rush and was best. Cassie W. got away running and scored a lucky third. Rubino was closing up well. Queen of Dixiana retired early. Malaspina is in poor form. Teufel got away badly and closed a gap. Whoa Bill received a lucky start, lost ground by a wide stretch turn, then closed up very gamely and ran a superior race. H. L. Frank got away flatfooted, but raced into the lead on the stretch turn and the excessive effort tired him at the end. Planet, a quick beginner, gained an advantage at the start, which enabled him to just save third place. Dr Rowell came from a long way back at the end. The Cure was crowded out of the race at thand start. Toltec swerved across the track at the start. Whoa Bill, show, 6 to 5. H. L. Frank, show, 1 to 3. Planet, show, evens. Mountebank, away poorly and badly handled, worked a rough journey to the stretch, where he fairly cantered into the lead and was much the best. Water Cure received a poor start and closed a gap, but appeared to sulk until whipped, when he came like a shot out of a gun. Rey Dare raced into prominence from a bad start and tired in the stretch run. Quiz forced the pace and showed unexepected improvement. San Lution was going well at the end. Yellowstone and Bassenzo failed to stay. The Pride ran a very bad race. Mountebank, show, 4 to 5. Water Cure, show, 4 to 5. Rey Dare, show, 4 to 1. Decoy made a close stretch turn and ran in much improved form. Rim Rock was crowded and nearly fell at the start and closed a tremendous gap. Harry That-; cher went well. Montana Peeress was badly ridden and repeatedly interfered with. Rosarie and Gawaine were both knocked out of it on the first turn. Scratched— 37866 Buck Taylor, 99. Position, show, 4 to 5.
