Po-cassat took kindly to the going, showed much speed and was needlessly put to the whip in the last sixteenth. Interrogation began slowly and made up ground fast in the last quarter, but tired palpably in the closing strides. Shades of Night showed speed, but tired fast when the pinch came. Tayon was carried along at a fast gait for the first four furlongs by Marco, but easily shook him off in the last eighth and won as his rider pleased. OHagen ran well and finished going fast. Double O. finished third simply because Doeskin and Marco tired very fast when a furlong out. Doeskin was pocketed badly at the last eighth post, but was thoroughly beaten . at the time. Prodigal Son finished fast and had no trouble in wearing down Angelo in the last quarter. The latter fell away fast after turning for home. The race was a procession- all the way.
