Won driving; second easily. „ Tancred had to go around the leaders to get up and caught Jake Greenberg while rounding the far turn, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Captain Hugh Bradley. The latter came through on the Inside and finished going very fast and would have won in a few more strides. Kinford is a slow beginner and closed a big gap. He was bumped into at the turn into the homestretch and almost knocked down, but came again at the end. Jake Greenberg had no mishaps, was well ridden and ran his race. Overweights — Rampooza, 2§ pounds. Tancred, show, 1 to 3. Captain Hugh Bradley, show, 3 to 1. Kinford, show, 2 to 1. Shogun, show, 1 to 2. SECOND RACE— 1-2 Mile. Purse 00. 2-year-olds. Viona is a rapid breaker and ran away from her field while rounding the far turn, but had to be hard ridden in the last fifty yards to stall off Advantage. The latter was bumped into and carried wide by Esherson at the turn into the homestretch, but finished going fast and was wearing the winner down at the end. Esherson was used up chasing the winner and tired. Requisite is a good looker, but was green at the post. Leech stumbled and went to his knees when the barrier went up. Airtight saved ground at the turn Into" the homestretch, was under punishment all of the last furlong and outgamed The Crisis when the pinch came. The latter looked big when going to the post and was probably a bit short. Grand Mary and Two Lick showed early speed, but tired after going a half and were probably short. Blue Pennant was very green at the post and jumped in the air when the barrier went up, then made up a lot of ground in the first quarter, but was not persevered with at the end. Castro made his run too soon with Binehelio, but the horse ian a good race. Little Duchess n. was used up chasing Easter Boy in the first half and tired badly. Easter Boy ran a good six furlongs.
