Brick Fowler came with a rush through the stretch and won easing up. Don Alvaro had worked very well and was off ten lengths in front, as the others were turned, but tired after going a quarter. Bear Creek was best ridden, came fast through the last quarter and just got up in the final stride. Howling Dervish showed the most speed to the stretch and seemingly was winning easily when his rider threw the race away by a bad finish. Budweiser ran to his best form and finished resolutely. Barkelmore was given an easy race. Dr. Kammerer was very badly ridden. Goudy is seemingly a rank quitter. Stub showed early speed. Scratched— 38747 Ben Lear, 100. Macy, high in flesh and with bad legs, closed up resolutely at the end under a drive. Prince Richard ran a dull race. Eda Riley is best on a fast track. Icicle ran a fair race and finished with unusual gameness Hilee showed speed, but was tiring at the end and the race should improve him. Helen Print went well, but tired in the stretch run. Won driving; second easily Kittie Clyde was sent away flying to a bad start and led throughout, but was driving hard to the limit at the end to stall off Socapa. Socapa ran a good race, was well ridden and might have won had not Kittle Clyde pinched him into the rail in the stretch. Blanco was practically left at the post and took the long way, but seemed to be winning in the last sixteenth when he suddenly swerved in behind the other two. Patronymic ran well to the stretch.
