Canyon was much the best, displayed keen speed throughout and came away easily in the last eighth. Irene Mac began slowly, but moved up fast in the final quarter and was easily the best of the others. Fading Light finished going fast. Reeves tired palpably when the pinch came. Fade Meny showed much speed for five furlongs. She is weak hearted. He-dera was right there for five furlongs, but tired fast when the pinch came. At post 2 minutes. Start good. Won driving; second the same. Cornwall, closely attended by Alfred C, fought it out all through the last quarter, the former outstaying the latter. Alfred C. showed the most early speed and finished gamely. Frank M. came with a rush in the last hundred yards and was passing horses fast at the end. Dodie S. ran an impressive race making up much ground in the final quarter. Meehanus faltered when a sixteenth out. He should about beat the same field the next time out Pronta was all entangled at the first turn and was taken wide when turning for home losing ground. Baird showed some early speed and bears watching. Scratched— 38G97 Gin Spray, 108; 3S6973Pyrrho, 102; 38580 Prairie Dog, 108; 38515 Sir Claus, 104. Corrected weights — Frank M., 103. She was under a hard ride all through the last eighth. Soothsayer finished going fast. Joe Martin tired fast when a furlong out. Filly Deck showed some early speed. Scratched— 38722 Stem Winder, 103. The latter showed much speed, but tired just a trifle at the end Scotch Plaid finished going fast after making up much ground in the last quarter, runniner next to the inside rail. Autumn Leaves tired fast when a furlong out. Huzzah was never a serious contender. Emshee showed some early speed. He ran as if short and can do much better Better. Au Revoir appeared the winner when a furlong out, but tired fast when the pinch came. He was slow in getting into his full stride, but made up ground fast down the back-stretch. The Don ran under choking restraint down the backstretch, but when called on m the last quarter tired fast. Prodigal Son came with a rush at the end and would have finished third in another stride. Overweights — Au Revoir, 3 pounds. No show betting on first three. •
