Perla broke fast, ran. away from her field and won like a good filly. Lona S. was off badly, but came on fast next to the rail and finished with great resolution. Bessie B. ran to her mark. Sextette had an easy race and is a fairly good filly. Deer Bird is a very good looker and displayed early speed. Anna Hardy has worked well. Scratched— Liberty Bell, 105; Nunan, 105. Won easily; second driving. Hemlock is a fast breaker, ran away from his field, won eased up and can probably beat better ones. Crutchfield overcame interference, made up ground and finished well. Martin Brady came fast through the stretch. Escanaba showed decided improvement. Sabinal ran well to the stretch, then quit badly. Can Nell fell lame. Otis Skinner is a good looker. Jehane broke slowly, but showing great speed darted past her field and won quickly easing up. She is a good looker and a fast filly. Ora McKinney ran well throughout and finished resolutely. Eugenie B., a grand looker and highly tried, showed speed, but ran green. The others broke green and were not contenders. Jehane, show, 4 to 5. Ora McKinney, show, evens. The entry, show, out. Gates with the lead to the head of the stretch, where she easily passed him and won going away. Edgardo, under a vigorous ride finished fast and nipped W. B. Gates on the post for second place. W. B Gates did his best. Ben Chance was pinned in next to the rail through the stretch, but for which he would in all probability have been second. Audiphone ran a good race and finished resolutely. Pharoah was going fast at the finish and is improving. Overweights — Pharoah, 2 pounds. Won easily; second the same Oustus displayed a good turn of speed, disposed of all challengers as they came and was" going easily at the end. He is probably a fairly good horse that will beat better ones than these. Outlaw closed up a lot of ground after a rough journey and under a bungling ride Blue Grass Girl made a good stretch run.
