Time. 23, 48, 1:14, 1:41, 1:49. Winner — Blk. g, by Jim Gray — Leola trained by P. J. Miles. Went to post at 5:02. At post 1 minute. Start good. Won driving; second the same. Cogswell was well handled. Winkfield nursed him along until rounding the turn into the homestretch when he moved up and joined the leaders, fought it out all through the last furlong with Aimless and Adelante and got up in the last two strides. It was a tight fit between the first three. Aimless was used too much in chasing Mint Bed and ran a good race under the circumstances. Adelante saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and finished gamely. Mint Bed showed a lot of early speed, but tired badly after going a half. Scratched— 3878S3Caxton, 101; 38837 Senor, 101; 38620 Jena, 101; 3888S2Altona, 100; 38733s Lady of the West, 96; 38863 Fair Lass, 92; 387912Emir, 79. Cogswell, show, 1 to 2. Aimless, show, 6 to 5. Adelante, show, evens. Mint Bed, show, 4 to 5.
