LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. The horses of John A. Drake, thirty in number, in charge of E. Wishard, arrived at Hawthorne yesterday from Nashville, Tenn., where they have been wintered. The horses all appear to be in good health, but do not seem to be in the best possible racing condition. Some of the horses, among them Sayable, the American Derby candidate, are high in flesh and they will no doubt have to undergo a strenuous preparation before they will be at their best. P. J. Miles arrived at Worth yesterday from Louisville with Cogswell, Loone, Nettie Regent and Lajaro The original fifth race yesterday was de clared off, on account of several owners not caring to run against Golden Rule J. J. Marklein will ship all his horses today to Latonia, where they will be raced at the coming meeting there. Jockey C. Kelly will accompany the stable. Secretary Howard, of the Washington Park Club, was a guest of Judge Morse and witnessed the running of the Powers Handicap from the judges stand. Two track records were broken yesterday at Worth. Gin Spray, which won the mile and a half race, lowered the mark from 2:35g, to 2:351, and Dick Bernard took a fifth of a second off the four and a half furlongs record and set the mark at 54ยง. Jockey Coburn did not ride Little Scout yesterday because of being three pounds overweight. Trainer McDaniel gave the mount to C. Gray and expressed himself, after the race, as being entirely satisfied with the ride put up, at the same time giving it as his opinion that but for the interference the horse would have won. The failure of Au Revoir to leave the post with the field was a mystery to the trainer as the horse was never before known to refuse to break when asked to do so
