Nitrate moved up fast when turning for home and responding gamely to the whip under a hard drive lasted just long enough. Little Scout was probably best. He met with much interference, especially when running near the last eighth post. He got clear sailing about hundred yards out, but it was too late to be of advantage. He finished with a rush. The rider on Huzzah made his run too soon and the horse had little left to finish with. The Lady finished going fast and would have been third in a few more strides.
