Tom Maybin, always within easy call of the pacemaker, responded with a rush when called on in the final eighth and finished going fast. Floral Wreath tired palpably" when challenged by the winner, but ran a good race. Hindi was badly cut off just before turning for home and also had to pull out when opposite the final eighth post, but finished going fast when she got clear sailing. P*eter Paul was slightly cut off when a furlong out, but closed up fast when he got clear sailing and just got up in time to win on the post. Manshak showed much speed, but tired palpably in the closing strides. St. Paula rallied in the last hundred yards and finished going fast. The latter showed sudden improvement, displayed keen speed for six : and a half furlongs and tired only when challenged by the winner. James J. Corbett came i with a rush at the end toward the outside rail and would have been second in a few more i strides Leo Newell appeared to have a chance when turning for home, but faltered badly when the pinch came. Arigato ran a dull race, showing but scant speed. Dyxona bowed a . tendon and was eased up all through the last quarter. Scratched— 3G580 Loone, 113; 389243Gracious, 10G; 39047 Ida V., lll.
