Ella Snyder, one of the improving sort, won all the way from a lucky start, waiting in front until straightened away for home when she came away fast. Tioga trailed in behind the winner to the stretch turn, where she went wide and under a weak ride swerved all over the course albeit coming fast at the end. Damon loomed up strong when a furlong out, but was tiring at the end and was probably short. He will show great improvement. Sparkle Esher commenced to improve her position after passing the half and is rounding into shape. Burning Glass went a" fast five furlongs. Corrected weights — Tioga, 98. Big and sluggish, under Bullmans vigoroujj ride, he managed to keep within striking distance of the leaders and caught them wheal turning on the level stretch, coming away like a flash at the end and is a genuine cracker-jack. Palmbearer practically forced the pace throughout and ran a high-class game race. Leonidas was always a prominent contender. This diminutive bull dog of a colt recovered from serious interference in the last sixteenth and was again closing up like a flash. Rapid Water received skillful handling. Bumped into at the start, Sloan patiently reserved his speed until rising the last hill where he moved up fast and appeared like running into third place, but unexpectedly eased up when he struck the slightly wet going in front of the stand. Mimosa ran across the track at the start boring into and seriously impeding Stalwart, and her swerving continued until well towards the end where she suddenly commenced to mow down those in front of her. Stalwart still ran green and suffered severely from crowding at the start, which may have caused him to run unkindly. Precious Stone away badly and worse ridden, made up ground at the end. Dimple finished close up and was treated badly in the crowding in the first sixteenth. Strephon was prominent at the end of three furlongs and unexpectedly failed to make good on the level stretch. Plohn took ur the running when half the journey had been negotiated and retained his lead securely to the end and at the weights was best today. Land of Clover developed superior speed and ability through this difficult field and stuck it out gamely to the very end. Lavator put up a meritorious effort, fenced admirably and showed superior speed, but his weight anchored him in the final , sprint home. Fred Ackerman went well and Is evidently a coming crackerjack as a jumper. Herculean finished well up. Scratched— 391642Duke of York, 147; 39033Daryl, 135. Overweights — Silver Twist, 5 pounds. Girdle under restraint, waited on her stable companion for seven furlongs of the journey, striding to the front like a flash. when called on, but was tiring at the end and driven out to beat Stolen Moments. The latter was pinched out at the start and getting away very badlv closed up her lost ground in the first furlong and was held in a hopeless pocket by the Whitnev pair and onlv got out in the last sixteenth where she closed up with an eiectric ru«h Gravina raced wide around the field on the stretch turn and wore Judith Campbell down for third place. The latter was choked in front for six furlongs and was evidently short. She is a grand looker and should reverse this running later. Mary Street was outpaced from start to finish. Homestead ran in improved form and finished out the last quarter fast, after having kept well within reach of the leaders from the start. Hunter Raine gained very fast from the far turn and liis ru=h at the end was cyclonic. Whorler, which had worked fast trials, was hard held and really indulged the winner for the first six furlongs and evidently succumbed only to lack of condition.
