Allan-a-Dale began slowly, but moved up fast after the first sixteenth had been run and thereafter always held a commanding lead. He displayed a splendid turn of speed and won with plenty in reserve. Toah finished .resolutely under a strong ride, easily outstaying Golden Rule in the last hundred yards. The latter acted kindly at the post and broke with the field. He ran well, but tired palpably when the pinch came. Sam Fullen finished going fast and ran to his best form. Federal made up ground in the last quarter and the race should do him good. Nellie Waddell was well beaten just after turning for home. Burnie Bunton showed a little early speed. Crest assumed an easy lead after the third jump had been taken and simply ran away from the field. Hand Vice fenced well and was easily best of the others. Helen Paxton jumped cleanly, but was a little dull of speed on* the flat. Duke of York ran an unaccountably dull race and can do much better. He showed scant speed on the flat. Mike Rices martingale broke after the third jump had been taken and he was given an easy ride thereafter Ninos v ran out at the ninth jump, but was taken back and finished the course. Dick Bernard was much the best. He began slowly, but moved up fast when turning for home and getting clear sailing all through the last quarter was going away at the end. Tryon came with a rush at the end and finished going fast under a powerful ride, nipping Patsy Brown on the post. The latter showed much speed, but tired rapidly in the final hundred yards. J. P. Mayberry made up much ground in the final quarter and finished with a rush. Requiter made up much ground and ran an impressive race. Don Domo ran out at the head of the stretch losing ground. Manshak showed much early sped, but as usual quit when the pinch came about a sixteenth from home. Scratched— Peter J. Early was at his best, displayed a good order of speed throughout and easily stood off Au Revoir s challenge in the final eighth. The latter was under a hard drive all through the final eighth. Coburn placed him skillfully, but when called on he was not good enough Manru ran in improved form, but tired palpably in the last sixteenth. He was worked out an extra three-sixteenths. Ilmarinen ran well for six furlongs. Galba was out of Dlace. Barca showed scant speed throughout. Scratched— 39534 Epicure. 110. Overweights — Galba. 1$ pounds. Early, show, out.
