Won easily; second driving. Trompeuse began slowly and appeared to have little chance when a furlong out, but came ■with a great rush in the last hundred yards, darting toward the inside rail and was going away fast at the finish. My Jane appeared the winner in the last sixteenth, but hung in the closing strides. Wm. Wright stood a long stretch drive with gameness. Zar finished going fast and bears watching from now on. General Steward tired palpably when the pinch came. Requimis ran a dull race and can do better. Oudon was right there for four furlongs. The others were never serious contenders. Royal Arms fell right after the start. Scratched— 39763 Honest John, 103; Father Tallent, 103. Overweights? — Charlie Slade, 4 pounds. Trompeuse, show, 3 to 5. My Jane, show, 2 to 1. Louisville was not called on until entering the last quarter, where she easily moved up and passed Miracle II. when a furlong out, winning as her rider pleased. The latter was easily the best of the others, met with no mishaps and ran to his best form. Felix Bard tired fast in the last eighth struggle. He showed in improved form and will bear watching hereafter. Alene Abbott was well beaten turning for home. Bard of Avon appears to be of no present account. Fred Leppert stood a long stretch drive with gameness and won on the post by virtue of Dominicks superior riding over Ferrell. Don Domo should undoubtedly have won, but Ferrell was not strong enough to be of any help to him in the closing strides. He ran to his "best form at that. Paris showed keen speed, but faltered perceptibly in the closing strides. Memories came with a rush at the end, after making up ground in the final quarter. Anne Davis finished going fast. Touchstone displayed a keen turn of speed, but tired fast when the pinch came. Silk Maid ran a dull race and was never a serious contender. Patsy Brown showed scant speed. Bragg came with a great rush at the end after making up ground in the last half, getting up in time to nip Schwalbe on the post. The latter stood a long stretch drive and contested every foot of the last sixteenth stride for stride with Toah. The latter ran to his best form, met with no mishaps and finished resolutely under a powerful ride.- Hoodwink was cut off in the last eighth, but tired palpably in the closing strides. Paul Whaley ran an impressive race, making up ground throughout. Sidney C. Love was well beaten turning for home and the same may be said of Talpa. Lemco and Federal were all but left at the post. Overweights— Gregor K., 1 pound. Bragg, show, 2 to 1. Schwalbe, show, 6 to 1. Toah, show, 3 to 5. A AAQA FIFTH RACE— 6 1-2 Furlongs. 00 added; 50 to second; 0 to third. UUOv 3-year-olds and upward. Start fair. Won handily; second easily. Sylvia Talbot displayed great speed throughout and had enough left to stand off Golden Bules challenge in the last sixteenth. The latter finished going fast under a very weak ride, Adkins hardly being strong enough to give him the vigorous assistance he requires. Cruzados tired palpably in the final sixteenth, but ran a good race at that. John Peters ■was beaten when turning for home, but rallied slightly in the last sixteenth.
