Prodigality was carried wide when turning into the stretch, losing ground, but came fast when straightened out, wore the leaders down and got up in the last stride. Dynasty was doing his best and met with no mishaps. Wild Wave closed a big gap in the stretch run and finished fast. Rustic Girl showed early speed, but tired. Harlem Lane was off poorly, but closed a big gap and then fell away in the stretch run. The Stewardess ran well. Rowland M. wore down Frank Somers in the last eighth and outgamed him in the final drive. Frank Somers was made too much use of while rounding the far turn and tired when called on in the last furlong. Ceylon ran a good race and Js steadily improving. Lochgoil also ran a good race for a green starter. He is a good looker and will improve. Yeremi showed a burst of speed, but tired in the stretch. Autolight allowed Tax Man to race himself into exhaustion in front and came away without great effort in the stretch run. He is at his best just now. Bummer n. made up a lot of ground while rounding the far turn, but tired after getting to the leaders. Tax Man was made too much use of in the first part of the race in trying to make a runaway race of it and tired when the pjnch came. Scortic showed but scant speed and did not run her true race. Won easily; second driving. June Collins was best and came away as his rider pleased in the stretch run. Claristina showed much improvement andwas well handled. She was under a hard drive at the end to stall off Froken. The latter ran a good race and would have been second in another stride. Prosader finished well. Helen Tarwater showed early speed. Marklein. * Went to post at 4:30. At post 2 minutes. Start fair. Won driving; second easily. Decoration ran to his best form, but carried John J. Regan to the outside fence in the stretch run. The latter closed a big gap and would have won with clear sailing as Decoration was tiring fast at the end. Artist showed plenty of early speed, but tired badly through, the stretch. Jerry had a rough trip and was messed about all through the race, but finished very fast. Flora Bright and Snare were in a pocket and could never get through. Pat My Boy raced Mrs. Grannan sharply through the field and went in Improved form. Faraday Jr. had no trouble in getting third place. Mrs. Grannan fenced badly and blundered at every jump and can easily beat this field. Sol lost his rider at the ninth jump. Cubanite pulled up at the eighth jump. Arius went down at the water jump. Overweights — Cubanite, 5 pounds. Sauber, show, 1 to 2. Pat My Boy, show, 3 to 5. Faraday Jr., show, 4 to L Mrs. Grannan, show, out. Arius, show, out.
