Mary McCafferty showed the most speed throughout, but had to be driven out in the last hundred yards to stall off Organdies determined challenge. The latter showed but little early speed, but moved up fast when turning for home and finished with a fine rush through the stretch. Semper Vivum was under a hard drive all through the last eighth, just lasting long enough to beat Floral Wreath for third place. The latter finished gamely and ran to her best form. Mary Glenn made up some ground in the last quarter. Christine A. showed some early speed. Scratched — 101272Sylvia Talbot, 117; 40127 Snowdrift, 95. Talpa began slowly, but moved up fast when turning for home and, getting to Irene Lind-sey a sixteenth out, easily outstayed her to the wire. The latter was under keen pressure all through the final eighth, met with no mishaps and ran to her best form. Bardolph was well beaten when a furlong out after showing much speed. Never Fret displayed great early speed, but for only five furlongs. Scratched— 40028 Martinmas, 90. Talpa, show, 1 to 2. Irene Lindsey, show, out. Bad News ran a good race and was easily best of the others, McGee finished going fast and ran an impressive race. Won easily; second driving Miracle II., despite the fact that he was cut off by Little Duchess II. at the half-mile nost recovered quickly, moved up fast in the last quarter and, catching Harry tiring when a furlong out, easily passed into the lead, winning as his rider pleased. Little Duchess II ran well and stood a long stretch drive gamely. Vulcain came with a rush at the end and would have been second in a few more strides. Harry showed much speed but as usual tired when the pinch came. The others were never serious contenders. Overweights — Alma Girl, 1A pounds; Fingal, 2. Miracle II., show, 1 to 2. Antonius came with a rush at the end and was much the best of the others Orsina showed much speed, but was well spent when a furlong out. The Kentuckiiti wn l right there for seven furlongs and then retired.
