Bad News took kindly to the going, showed much the most speed and made the field look cheap. Rcssmond ran a good race and was easily best of the others. Frank M. was under keen punishment all through the last quarter, but it availed him little. Lendin appeared unable to extend himself freely in the sticky going. Runnels was outrun for the first five furlongs, but closed up fast on Sylvia Talbot in the final sixteenth, and passing her in the final strides, was going away at the end. The latter ran her usual honest race, but faltered in the final sixteeenth. Red Raven was never a serious contender. The latter tired fast when the pinch came. Bery Waddell came with a rush at the end. Helgerson began slowly, but made up ground in the last quarter and was passing horses rapidly at the end. The latter tired fast when a furlong out and was iswerving in the final sixteenth. Lord Touchwood easily wore down Warte Nicht when the pinch came. The latter was well beaten when a sixteenth out. Sir Hugh ran well for six furlongs, but ceased to be a serious contender by the time the head of the stretch had been reached. Mirance showed a little early speed. Scratched— 402063Hindi, 96. Jaubert easily passed Alee when a sixteenth out and, coming away without any trouble, won as his rider pleased. Alee showed much speed, but tired fast when the pinch came. Marcos made up much ground in the last quarter and finished going fast. Prince Blazes appeared to have a chance when a furlong out, but tired badly in the closing strides. Little Elkin finished with a rush after making up much ground in the last half mile. Antonius moved up fast when turning for home and easily wore down Evelyn Byrd in the last sixteenth, winning as his rider pleased. The latter showed much speed, but had no chance, to beat the winner. Pirate finished going fast, nipping .Louisville on the post. The latter appeared unable to extend herself with freedom in the going. Miracle II. was well beaten when a furlong out after being a contender up to that point. Charley Thompson ran a dull race and can do better.
