HORSES IN TRAINING SOLD. Horses in training owned by W. C. Whitney, *E. D. Morgan and others were disposed of Monday, July 6, at the Fasig-Tipton paddocks, Sheepshead Bay. The star of the sale was Prince of Melbourne, winner of the Double Event, Realization Stakes and Brighton Cup. H. T. Oxnard, who has established a breeding farm, secured him for ,500 after considerable competition, in which J. E. Seagram and Enoch Wishard figured. Alex. Shields paid the same amount for him last year, when the Walbaum string was sold. He cost Mr. Walbaum 0,000. The highest priced one in the lot consigned by Mr. Whitney was Destiny, a daughter of Lissak. George Reif, of Chattanooga, paid ,800 for her.
