Ingolthrift broke fast, assumed a long lead in the first quarter and was- increasing it at the end. Bustler ran a good race all through. Dusty Miller had no mishaps and ran a true race. Fenian was off badly and ran a very bad race, although making up ground in the last quarter. Scratched— Dale, 110; 40042 Buck Wynne, 110. Ingolthrift, show, out. Bustler, show, 5 to 1. Mistie broke fast, set a hot pace and might have won with a more vigorous finish. Kittie Cut a Dash ran a good race. Lady Chariot can do better. Forehand was in the best condition, set a fast pace and was going away at the end. Major Pelham was given a blundering ride and ran his race on his own courage. Jehane ran her race. Orient looked badly when going to the post, was off poorly and ran a dull race. She has been highly tried and has worked very fast. Forehand, show, out. Major Pelham, show, 8 to 5. Miss Mae Day broke slowly and was outrun in the first half, but went around her horses on the stretch turn, wore Bengal down in the stretch run and won going away. Bengal ran his race without mishaps. Orleans went to her best form. Doeskin was taken the long way and came wide into the stretch, but was closing up fast. Start poor. Won driving; second the same. Orpheum got a running start and set a hot pace, but was ridden under pressure all through the last half, interfered with Montana Peeress in the stretch and was all out at the end. Montana Peeress ran a good race, came fast in the stretch and was pinched off at the sixteenth post, but found an opening in the last fifty yards and was closing up very fast at the end and might have won had she not been interfered with. Murmur ran a good race and finished gamely. The others were not contenders. The boy on Pyrrho pulled him up as if he had broken down. Scratched— 40293 The Messenger, 104; 40214Pirateer, 98.
