Quaker Girl ran a good race and was best of the others. Bird Pond "had no mishaps and had clear sailing, but quit under pressure. Mendon ran a fine race and will bear watching. Eda Riley drew away strongly at the stretch entry and seemed to be winning, but Josie F answered the whip well and Bridwell put up a very strong, hard finish. Landola ran an even race throughout. Olonetz was well placed behind the leaders, came fast in the stretch and stood off Dr Kammerers determined challenge gamely. Dr. Kammerer was off in his stride and did not display his usual early speed, but finished in resolute fashion and ran one of his best races. Alfio showed early speed, but was made too much use of and tired. Bridwell had him under a drive all the way. Carleys Dream had an easy race for six furlongs, then worked out a good mile. Deerhunter ran a bad race. Ben Lear quit badly. Olonetz, show, 1 to 2. Dr. Kammerer, show, 8 to 5. Alfio, show, 1 to 3. Carleys Dream, show, 3 to 5. Brown Vail was ridden with good judgment, followed the leaders closely and stood a stretch drive well, winning in the last stride. Henry of Trastamare began slowly, but ran a good race under a weak ride. He finished gamely, but Shilling could not help him at the end and he tired a little in the closing strides. Tioga was off badly, rushed to the front in a hurry and tired. Kittie Clyde showed some improvement. Tickful showed CH.rly speed. Scratched — 10115 Howling Dervish, 98. Brown Vail, show, 1 to 2. Henry of Trastamare, show, evens. Tioga, show, 3 to 5.
