Mayor Johnson was much the best, showed the most speed throughout and never left the result in doubt. Zyra came with a rush at the end and was easily best, of the others. Kim-berly made a determined effort when a furlong out, but tired fast in the final sixteenth. Irmas Choice was thoroughly beaten just after turning for home. Nyda showed a little early speed. General Steward ran well throughout and stuck gamely to his work all through the final eighth. Instrument showed speed throughout, but tired perceptibly in the closing strides. Ralph Young faltered badly in the final sixteenth. Dun-gannon had trouble in getting through when turning for home but got clear sailing when a furlong out and finished going fast. El Ghor moved up fast when turning for borne and finished close up. as also did Eda Riley. Lampoon was the victim of an incompetent i ride and was pocketed and cut off frequently.
