Start good. Won easilv; second driving. Red in outclassed his field, went to tho front quickly and was never fully extended. King Rose began slowly, but made up a lot of ground and finished fast, outgaming Lovable in the final drive. The latter was much used in chasing Redan and tired when the pinch came. Vestrv had a rough trip and was cut off at the far turn and lost a half dozen lengths. Scratched 12501 Tax Man, 100; 407G2 Tom Curl, 104; 42199 Fieuron, 103; 42200 Louise Collier. Silk Maid was off running, showed a great burst of speed and won easing up. Geraniums head caught in the barrier and she interfered with Alma Dufour, which closed up some ground while rounding the far turn, but tired in the last furlong and Baker did not punish her. Wreath of Ivy was hand ridden -ill through the last quarter and ran in improved form. Geranium was eased up at the end. Moulin Rouge as usual quit after running well to the stretch. Bardolph quickly ran into the lead and held his field safe all the way, but Dieterle had to shake him up at the end to stall off Ethel Wheat. Minder took the latter back on the back-stretch, then came through next to the inner rail at the homo turn and finished fast. Mint Bed showed speed, but was tiring at the end. The others were never contenders. The winner, entered to be sold for ,000. was run up to ,000 by E. Corrigan. but was bid in. Reservation, as usual, began slowly and closed a big gap while rounding the far turn, but tired after getting to Bad News and was driving to the limit at the end and just managed to last long enough to stall off Dan McKenna. The latter ran an excellent race, was well ridden and had no mishaps. Six Shooter tired in the last furlong. Scratched 4220S Judge Himes, 113; 4242S Flintlock, 104. Bad News, show, 4 lo 5. The latter did his best and was under a drive all through the last furlong. Lady of the West had a. rough trip and was cut off at the far turn and Boland had to pull up.
