WESTERN JOCKEY CLUB ACTION. A meeting of the Board of Stewards of the Western Jockey Club, pursuant to the adjournment taken November 2, was held on Friday, November C, 1903. The horse Phoroso Hasbrouck, property of C. N. McFarland, was restored to good standing. The application for reinstatement of John J. Gain, owner, was passed to the next meeting. The applications for reinstatement of the following were denied: The horse Bad Penny; M. J. Kelley, jockey. Applications for reinstatement of persons and horses who had raced at Newport were passed to the next meeting. The folowing applications for licenses wrere granted: Trainers George Ham, John Paul, Jr., L. T. Whitehill. Jockeys J. Colvin, R. Narvaez. Apprentice allowance granted G. Itich-steiger. The following applications for licenses were passed for future action: Trainer C. L. Baldwin. Apprentice Sam Greenfield. W. J. Young was granted permission to race the horses Hobsons Choice, and Reverberate. The report of John F. Morse, official Steward at the Worth meeting, was received and ordered filed. Racing officials for the winter meeting of the Crescent City Jockey Club were approved as follows: Frank J. Bryan, Steward. Clarence McDowell, Steward. R. W. Simmons, Presiding Judge. J. L. Hall, Paddock Judge. Alex. Brewster, Patrol Judge. C. J. Fitzgerald, Starter. Sheridan Clark, Secretary, Handicapper and Clerk of Scales. C. S. Bush was appointed official Steward to represent the Western Jockey Club at said meeting. Protested forfeits to the amount of 5 were, ordered paid. D. J. Lynch, owner; C. Lind, trainer, and 1. Treanor, jockey, are ruled off the turf.
