Louise Collier raced Loiter to defeat, in the first half, but was driving to the limit at the end to stall off Lowly. The latter closed a big gap, was catching the winner at every stride and would have won in another yard. Jet ran well and outgamed My Queen in the final drive. Loiter was jumped on at the post and was bleeding freely on the off foreleg when pulled up. Overweights Louise Collier, 4 pounds; Jet, 11; Heraldo, 3; Velasquez, 5; Beaucaire, 4. Bugle Horn was well rated for the first half, then came on fast and was going away at the end Overhand was at home in the going and showed the most early speed, but tired in the stretch run. Banwell was hard ridden all of the last quarter and outgamed Barney Dreyfuss in the deciding drive. Sanctissima ran to her best form and was under a hard drive all of the last furlong. Goo Goo began slowly and labored along all of the first half, but finished fast after ccming wide into the homestretch. Vestry seemingly could not extend herself in the going and tired badly in the last furlong. Overweights Goo Goo, 1 pound; Never Smile, 3. Sanctissima, show, evens. Belltoone swerved across the track at the furlong post and interfered with Fair Alien. Ethel Scruggs was left at the post and closed a. big gap. Magic Flute showed early speed.
