Ben Heywood dropped back In the early running, but gradually wore the leaders down while rounding the far turn and. coining through on the inside when entering the homestretch, finished fast under a drive and was drawing away at the end. Evasklll ran a good race and hung on gamely, nlthough tiring at the end. Flying Charcoal was a contender throughout, but was on the outside for the entire trip. Lionel fenced well and. after seeming beaten, came again in the last fifty yards and. outgaming. Lord Radnor, poked his nose in front in the final stride. Lord Radnor went well and showed plenty of speed, made a determined effort when going to the last jump, but tired in the last ten yards. Redlands. showed much speed and fenced admirably, but could not last the route. Chanley fell at the fourth jump and Sweet Jane struck the eighth jump with her knees and unseated McHugb. Granada outbroke his opponents, but was not hurried, but ran along with French Nun until straightened out in the stretch, where he drew away and was well in hand at the finish. French Nun was speedy and ran a good half, but tired at the end. Don Fonso ran a smashing race and is well worth rememberiug, stumbled and went to his knees at the middle of the far turn and lost a half dozen lengths, then came with a rush in the stretch and finished fast. Klngsmere raced Polly Prim into subjection while rounding the far turn and drew away as his rider pleased in the last furlong. Polly Prim outbroke her opponents and showed early speed, but tired and was probably a bit short. Jack Dolan went well and should improve by this race. Belden had no mishaps and ran a dull race. Monochord was outrun for the first half and came wide on the. turn into the homestretch, but came fast in the last quarter and outstayed Adare In a hotly contested finish. The latter was on the outside for nearly the entire trip, hut made up much ground in the .stretch under a good ride. April Shower was crowded back at the start, but made up a lot of ground .while rounding the far turn, came through next to the inside rail in the stretch and finished with a rush. Bert Osra got away tangled up, closeil a big gap in the first half and then tired. Gus Lanka was unlucky and ran fairly well. Presentation closed a big gap. AlmaiDufour was outrun In the early stages, but closed up with a rush in the last furlong, caught and passed Belle Strome without much effort and was only cantering at the end. Belle Strome showed much the most-early speed, but quit when Alma Dufour caught her. Bazll ran to his best form and was easily best uf the olhers. Coruscate was as good as left.
